The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) released a report on the income of National Political Parties for the year 2022–2023 as the country prepares for general elections and the current lok sabha members' term draws to an end. Unsurprisingly, the ruling bharatiya janata party (BJP) topped the list.

The aam aadmi party (AAP) with Rs 85.17 crore and the congress with Rs 452.375 crore are the next two highest earners on the table, with the bjp topping the list with an astounding Rs 2,361 crore for the year.

The list also includes parties like the Bahujan Samaj party (which earned Rs 29.27 crore), the National People's party (established by P.A. Sangma), and the party OF INDIA' target='_blank' title='communist party of india-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">communist party of india (Marxist), which received Rs 141.661 crore.

The parties stated that bank interest, donations, and contributions are their primary sources of income. It's interesting to note that the bjp receives a sizable portion of its funding—roughly Rs 2,120 crore—from voluntary contributions.

ADR said that it based its assessment on the yearly audit report that political parties provide to the indian Election Commission. The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report on the income and expenditure of National Political Parties for the year 2022-23
