The tamil Nadu government has made a huge breakthrough by starting excavation work in Maski. This is a critical step towards solving the region's historical puzzles. The choice was made in response to the recent finding of a Chola-era inscription in the town's restricted section, known as "Sulidibba," on Mudagal Road.

The Archaeology Department of the tamil Nadu government has provided significant funding for the excavation, indicating the significance of this undertaking. The excavation's main goal is to learn more about the Chola rulers' early history, who came originally from tamil Nadu.

The goal of the dig, according to historian Channabassappa Malkandinni, is to clarify the relationship between Maski and the Chola dynasty, especially in light of historical allusions that allude to potential Chola involvement in local conflicts.

Discoveries of tamil inscriptions in the region offer important new perspectives on the centuries-old battles between the Pallavas, Cholas, and kannada monarchs. Researchers Channabassaya Hiremath Muski claim that the Chola era inscription found at "Sulidibba" significantly expanded upon the historical records already in existence.

Experts from the archaeology departments of tamil Nadu and karnataka are anticipated to work closely together to enhance the effectiveness of the excavation.

In an interview with india Herald, Raichur-based historian Channabassaiah Hiremath underlines the significance of this collaborative endeavor and looks forward to fresh discoveries resulting from it.

The tamil Nadu government has shown significantly more interest and funding in the excavation effort than karnataka, even after many requests to the State Archaeology Department.

Channabassappa Malkandinni, the researcher credited with discovering the Chola inscription, expresses hope for a more proactive approach from karnataka authorities in the future.
