February - A Disastrous Month for Theaters

SIBY JEYYA
In february, several low- and medium-budget films were released. Sadly, none of these films were able to hold out over the weekend, and several of them even collapsed within the first weekend. Less than $50 million is anticipated to be made from theatrical sales in February. No film has earned a double-digit share in telugu states since Sankranti, which indicates how well the films are doing at the box office.

The summer movie releases are Tollywood's only chance. Operation Valentine, directed by varun Tej, is expected to be released next week. The anticipated hype surrounding the film has not materialized. Furthermore, varun Tej is in awful form, having delivered back-to-back calamities in the shape of Gandeevadhari Arjuna. It would be interesting to see if he can turn things around after such a horrible phase.

Thus far, none of the february releases, including yatra 2, Ooru peru Bhairavakona, Ambajipeta marriage Band, and Eagle, have been a box office sensation. It remains to be seen if forthcoming films such as Bhima, Gaami, and Tillu Square can atone for their past wrongs. This has been the same case even for tamil cinema as there is not even a single notable movie and theater owners are surviving with re-releases.
