AAP-Congress done deal in Delhi

According to reports, the aam aadmi party (AAP) and congress, the partners in the india alliance in delhi, agreed their seat-sharing arrangement for the lok sabha elections on Saturday. While congress will field candidates in three constituencies, AAP will run for four seats. Both parties will jointly make an official statement later today.

While congress candidates will run in chandni Chowk, North east delhi, North West delhi, and South delhi, AAP candidates will compete in New delhi, South delhi, West delhi, and east Delhi. Before, the talks had come to a standstill when the AAP had only given the congress one of the seven lok sabha seats.

The bjp secured all seven seats in the nation's capital with a vote share of more than 50% in the two previous lok sabha elections, which were conducted in 2014 and 2019.

The two parties are significant members of the opposition coalition, according to delhi congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely, who said on friday that "the india bloc will contest the lok sabha elections strongly not only in delhi, but the whole country."

Additionally, the congress has chosen to award the AAP two seats in gujarat and one seat in Haryana. Bharuch and bhavnagar are in gujarat, whereas Gurugram or faridabad is probably the headquarters for Haryana.

After Arvind Kejriwal's party announced that it will run for all 14 lok sabha seats in punjab and chandigarh alone, the relationship between the two parties deteriorated. In addition, the AAP has unilaterally announced that it will run for three seats in assam and has selected a candidate for one lok sabha seat in Goa.

The congress and Samajwadi party also completed their seat-sharing agreement in Uttar Pradesh earlier this week. The Samajwadi party (SP), led by Akhilesh Yadav, and other coalition partners of the india bloc will field candidates for the remaining 63 lok sabha seats, leaving 17 seats up for grabs for the Congress.

It's also anticipated that the india bloc seat distribution in maharashtra decision would be made shortly. A final decision on the seats will be revealed shortly, according to maharashtra congress president Nana Patole, who claimed on friday that talks between the congress, the NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar-led shiv sena (UBT) and uddhav thackeray are underway.

In the meanwhile, despite rumours that the congress and TMC are in active negotiations, trinamool congress leader Derek O'Brien stated that there has been "no change" in the party's stance to fight all 42 lok sabha seats in West Bengal.
