King's health headlines the UK front pages...

Naturally, news about the King's health dominates Tuesday's UK front pages. The title "King: I have cancer" is very striking on The Sun. The Mirror describes it as a "shock" and notes that the diagnosis was made as a result of his most recent prostate surgery.

Charles is "wholly positive," according to the Palace, according to The Times. The Express reports that prince Harry will see his father in the coming days, while The I claims that the declaration "abandons royal protocol" regarding comment on the monarch's health.

The Guardian decided to feature Taylor Swift at the Grammys instead of a photo of king Charles next to its front-page story. The Daily Mail headline claims that the king is "so grateful they caught it early," while The Telegraph takes a different tack and devotes its whole top page to the story.

Julian Payne, the former communications secretary for the king, stated that the Palace would have planned for a scenario similar to this, so the king will be frustrated that he can't be out seeing people. He declared that the Palace demonstrates "nothing if not excellent preparation". "So whilst this is an unwelcome surprise, I don't think that it will require a significant new change to some of these structures that are in place."

Payne also told the BBC's Newshour program that he's sure the king will be eager to return to his public engagements once and if it is judged prudent. Payne served for the king and Camilla for five years until 2021.

"He'll be quite irritated at not being able to go out and socialize. "He finds that quite enjoyable. He returns from all of the conversations incredibly fired up."
