Telangana - Railways Set for Transformation with 31221 Crores Investment

The indian Railways is preparing for a big makeover in telangana, with Union minister for Railways ashwini Vaishnaw announcing an investment of Rs 5,071 crore for this year, out of a total of Rs 31,221 crores. This funds will be used for a variety of railway infrastructure projects, including the construction of new train lines and the refurbishment of stations.
During a virtual media session, minister Vaishnaw revealed state-specific figures, highlighting investment in telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh's total investment is Rs 68,059 crore, with a budget allocation of Rs 9,138 crore for the current year.
According to minister Vaishnaw, Telangana's allocation of funding has grown by 8.5 times, while Andhra Pradesh's has increased by at least ten times.
The minister stated that the average railway spending for telugu States from 2009 to 2014 was Rs 886 crore. In contrast, the current investment represents a significant boost to railway infrastructure development.
Over the previous decade, telangana has made great progress in capacity building. The building of additional train lines and other infrastructure projects has been a top priority.
Notably, the length of railway lines in telangana has expanded from 70 km to a staggering 246 km. Furthermore, the electrification project has attained 100% completion in telangana and 97% in Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana is about to get a big data-facelift, with the building of 40 stations and 414 flyovers or underbridges.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, 72 stations are being renovated, along with the building of 709 road underpasses or overpasses.
