Jagan government's parting gift to CJI Ramana
The top justice of india, who has been invited to the convocation as the guest of honour, will receive the honorary doctorate from governor Biswa bhushan Harichandan. Justice ramana obtained both his law degree and his graduation from the same university. He actually graduated from the university's inaugural class of law students, and he progressed to become the CJI. As a result, the authorities considered it a significant honour for the university. Justice ramana also received an honorary doctorate from osmania university very lately. The honour was given to the CJI by governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Now, if acharya Nagarjuna university also confers the degree upon him, he will hold two doctorates.
In actuality, the government had been considering the acharya Nagarjuna university's proposal from a long time ago to award Justice ramana an honorary degree. However, it's been reported that the jagan administration just cleared the file, and the Governor—who also serves as the university's chancellor—approved it. It should be noted that until recently, things between the chief minister and the CJI were not good. Even before ramana was appointed Chief Justice of india, the chairman minister wrote to his predecessor S A Bobde, accusing the latter of plotting to overthrow his government with telugu desam party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
