India is becoming increasingly concerned about the tense situation in Bangladesh. There is growing concern about infiltration. Lalbazar is concerned about another matter in the middle of this. A syndicate is broadening its scope, initially focusing on indian deceased individuals, especially those from Bengal. Why? There are profound causes behind this.
Intelligence sources indicate that Bangladeshis are acquiring indian passports and entering india with ease. They are then leaving the country with these passports. However, it is unclear how Bangladeshis are obtaining passports once they have arrived in India.
How are Bangladeshis involved in the fraud?
According to sources, Bangladeshis are obtaining indian passports by exploiting the ration cards of deceased people. And indian authorities or representatives are helping to make this happen. This is being run by a large syndicate that includes local officials from food departments, municipalities, and panchayats. There are even suspicions that some police units may be involved.
Step 1:
According to sources, these people are submitting a general diary (GD) at a local police station, stating that their ration card has been misplaced, after entering india with legitimate documentation. They can register a GD with the assistance of the certifications and suggestions of local officials. The ration card numbers of the deceased are already in the possession of the brokers participating in this syndicate. They file the GD using an inactive ration card number from this list. The GD is accepted by the police without any verification. They then apply for a new ration card using this GD. Without verification, a new ration card is issued based on the inactive ration card number.
Step 2:
Once they get the new ration card, they apply for a voter ID card. This is the second step.
Step 3:
After obtaining the voter ID, they proceed to apply for an Aadhaar card. This is the third step.
Step 4:
They apply for a passport after obtaining their voter and Aadhaar cards. The complete procedure isn't being fully checked at this point.
According to sources, Bangladeshis are acquiring the required official documents in this way even though they are not indian nationals. But the federal government is now once again held accountable for this passport fraud problem. According to TMC leader Shantanu Sen, the federal government is accountable if the passports are granted. Regarding this matter, bjp mla Shankar Ghosh has already written to Union home minister amit Shah.
