Kerala to impose a nine days lockdown starting from May 8.
Kerala announced a lockdown in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting from May 8 against the backdrop of a strong second wave. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister's Office. The state has decided to close it completely for nine days. pinarayi vijayan the chief minister has also informed it through his twitter account. Even though the state is already running under strict restriction by only allowing essential and adequate facilities and goods there was no improvement in the decrease of the cases due to series of reckless act that had occurred in the state.
Ernakulam 6558, kozhikode 5180, Malappuram 4166, thrissur 3731, thiruvananthapuram 3727, kottayam 3432, alappuzha 2951, kollam 2946, palakkad 2551, Kannur 2087, idukki 1396, pathanamthitta 1282, Kasaragod 1056, and wayanad 890 have all recorded cases. It was reported yesterday that Covid-19 was to blame for 58 deaths in the last few days. This takes the cumulative number of people who have died to 5565.
