The Congress manifesto for Residuary Andhra Pradesh (RAP) for the year 2014-15 promises to be a real bonanza. The wonder is, why the Congress people did not show any signs of life when the State was having the two pieces together. The Congress people in RAP were really moribund when AP was in one piece and perhaps it required the blaze of separation/breakup, and after it was totally consumed in the fire, it has risen from the ashes just like Phoenix, in RAP. The ensuing election will tell us whether the rising is for its good, or this effort is just a flicker before it is extinguished in this area forever. The promise that the party if elected to power will create ONE CRORE jobs per year is fantastic. The population of Seemandhra is around Five crores. Jobs will be created every year for about 20% of the population and we will reach a super saturation point in no time. As per National Sample Survey, the number of unemployed in India rose to 10.8 million by January 1, 2012. It might have gone up a bit by now. Congress Party says that in RAP alone, in one year of their coming to power, they will create 10 million jobs! A real MIRACLE! What Seemandhra Congress manifesto promises is that RAP alone will wipe out the whole country’s unemployment? At this rate there will be surplus jobs in the RAP and we will have to import people from other areas/ countries by the time of next elections. The manifesto promises that every poor woman will be gifted a colour TV set with Dish .Poverty in AP was estimated at about I crore households as reflected by the number of rations cards. Since each household will have at least one poor woman, that means at least one crore color TV sets with Dishes will be distributed. It is a mind boggling figure. The manifesto dues not say that the TVs will be battery operate would there be power for these sets? Daily 9 hour power during day time is assured for agricultural families. Perhaps in rural areas the people can keep the sets in the fields and operate during daytime on that free power. Each girl child will be endowed at birth with a 100 Sq yard plot and by the time she is married, a house will be erected on the plot by the government and presented to her. The government will perhaps post some sentries to ensure that the plot is not encroached upon till she is married.. (Perhaps this encourages early marriages and early conceptions)Congress is promising us that Residuary Andhra Pradesh will be a real Utopia. Possibly all people in Telengana will move en masse to R AP and swamp the State. Long Live Congress and Let God enrich their imagination and improve the bonanza promises to voters and there be more frequent elections every two years like in the USA.
