Karnataka Political Row: Priyank Kharge Targets Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh

A major political controversy has erupted in karnataka after minister Priyank Kharge accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of involvement in money laundering activities.

Kharge alleged that the RSS operates a vast network of over 2,500 affiliated organizations and collects funds through these entities.

He questioned why the RSS is not formally registered, asking whether the organization considers itself above the law or the Constitution.

His remarks triggered sharp reactions from the bharatiya janata party (BJP), intensifying the ongoing political confrontation between the congress and the bjp in the state.

Karnataka bjp President B. Y. Vijayendra hit back strongly at Kharge and the congress party.

Vijayendra, in a social media post, advised Kharge to first ensure that the congress party’s own registration is secure before questioning other organizations.

He also launched a personal attack, referring to Kharge’s father and claiming that the congress is losing its political relevance.

Expanding the criticism, Vijayendra accused the Kharge family of neglecting the development of the kalyan Karnataka region.

He claimed that despite long political influence, the family has failed to uplift the region, leaving it among the most backward areas in the country.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, R. Ashok, also criticized Kharge’s remarks.

Ashok stated that “abusing the RSS is like spitting in the sky,” suggesting that such comments would backfire politically.

In response, Kharge defended his position and reiterated concerns about regional imbalance in Kalyan Karnataka.

He argued that historical and geographical factors have contributed to the backwardness of the region.

Kharge questioned why the BJP-led central government had not granted special status under Article 371J to address regional disparities.

He further targeted Vijayendra by referencing his father, B. S. Yediyurappa, who served multiple terms as Chief Minister.

Kharge asked why Shivamogga had not seen transformative development despite Yediyurappa’s leadership.

The exchange has intensified political tensions in karnataka, with both congress and bjp leaders trading allegations over governance, legality, and regional development issues.
