West bengal Chief minister mamata banerjee has refused to react to Vice President jagdeep Dhankhar's sudden resignation. Speaking to reporters in Howrah, mamata said, "I have no comment to make on this. Let's see what happens." She further said, "He is a healthy person. I think his health is absolutely fine." This statement of mamata banerjee has come at a time when opposition parties are constantly raising questions about the resignation of the Vice President and are considering it to be related to political reasons.

In his resignation letter to Murmu, Dhankhar said that he is leaving the post with immediate effect to "give priority to health care". Dhankhar said in a letter to the President, 'In order to give priority to health care and follow medical advice, I am resigning from the post of Vice President of india with immediate effect, as per Article 67 (A) of the Constitution.
