Govt launches two new categories of student visa!

Getting higher education in india will now be even easier for foreign students as the government has announced two new categories of visas for international students. This initiative has been started by the home Ministry, which includes 'e-student visa' and 'e-student-X visa'. One has to apply for the visa by visiting the government's 'Study in India' (SII) portal.

What is SII?

The 'e-student visa' on the portal is for those foreign students who will register their names for studies in india, while the 'e-student-X visa' is for the dependents of those holding e-student visas. SII has been designed on the initiative of the Ministry of education for those international students who want to come to india and pursue higher studies. Under this program, partnership has been done with more than 600 institutes, which provide more than 8,000 courses in many different subjects including engineering, management, technology, science, agriculture, arts, humanities, law, language studies, paramedical science, yoga.

students will have to apply for visa by visiting https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/ portal, but its verification will be done through SII ID. In such a situation, it is very important to get your registration done on SII. According to the information given by news agency PTI, it is mandatory for students wishing to pursue higher education in india to have SII ID, which will be generated after providing information like name, country, date of birth, mobile number, email ID on the portal. Student visas are issued on the basis of the duration of the course and their limit can also be increased while staying in India.

Who will get student visa?

Now the question arises that which students will get e-visa? Let us tell you that students can apply for e-visa if they get an admission offer from any of the institutions listed on the SII portal. This visa will be given to those who want to study post graduation, PhD or any other course on regular or full time basis from recognized institutions of the country.
