Game Changer Gets Telangana Govt Approval, But...

G GOWTHAM
The creators of the ram charan film Game Changer have been given permission by the telangana government to increase the cost of the film's tickets, which will go on sale globally on january 10. The government also permitted more showings of the film in a GO released on Wednesday. It has, however, denied the request to screen a benefit event with higher prices at one in the morning.

The GO states that six performances, including an additional show at 4 am, can be played on Friday, january 10, for an extra Rs 150 at multiplex theaters and Rs 100 at single-screen theaters.

Five performances may be exhibited from january 11–19; tickets for multiplex theaters cost an extra Rs 100, while those for single-screen theaters cost an additional Rs 50. According to the order, GST would be included in the increased fees.

With this, the government has completely retracted its prior decision to forbid ticket price increases and premiere performances in telangana in december 2024, after a lady was killed in a stampede at the sandhya Theatre.

The action seems to be the result of chief minister A revanth reddy meeting with top producer Dil Raju to discuss raising the ticket prices for two films that are scheduled to be released as part of the festival lineup: Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.

Telugu filmmakers, whose production costs and film budgets total crores, would undoubtedly benefit greatly from the telangana government's decision to accept the increase in Game Changer ticket prices. But, on a sad note, the bookings are dull and a huge jump is needed!
