The last date to apply for admission in nursery in Delhi is over!
The last date to apply for admission in nursery class in private schools of delhi ended on friday (December 20). friday was the last day for admission in nursery for the 2025-26 academic session in 1,741 private schools of the national capital. The Directorate of education (DoE) of the delhi government had announced in a circular on november 12 that the last date for submission of registration forms is december 20. According to a PTI report, the first general list for admission in nursery in private schools in delhi will be published on january 17, 2025. Pratika Gupta, principal of Rohini-based Sovereign school, said, "This year, we received more than 2,000 registrations for nursery admission, which is quite satisfactory and more than last year's number."
More registrations than last year
R N Jindal, chairperson of Geetaratan Global school, said, "Our school has received around 1,000 registrations for nursery admission. The DoE has directed schools to upload the details of all selected applicants by january 1, 2025. Manisha Sharma, principal of Venkateshwar school in Dwarka, said, "We received around 3,600 nursery registrations this year. There is a significant increase compared to last year.
Private schools will reserve 25 per cent seats for EWS
Private schools will have to reserve 25 per cent of their seats for economically weaker sections (EWS), disadvantaged group (DG) and Divyang children. According to the circular, separate admission lists will be published for these categories. The DoE has also mentioned the age limit for admission.
Age limit for admission in schools
As of march 31, 2025, children should be at least three years old for nursery, four years for KG and five years for class 1. The upper age limit is below four years for nursery, below five years for KG and below six years for class 1.
