Gang that used to steal cables by climbing metro pillars

delhi police has busted the cable theft case on Metro's Blue Line (Noida Electronic City to Dwarka). On december 5, DMRC informed the police that a 140 meter long cable had been cut between Moti nagar and Kirti nagar metro stations. Cable is used to send data to find the location of metro trains. police had registered an FIR at raja Garden police station. police has arrested 4 out of 11 members of the gang involved in the incident.

police has recovered 55 meters of stolen cable, Tata S loader vehicle and 2 mobile phones from the possession of the accused. Let us tell you that metro service was disrupted due to cable theft and passengers had to data-face a lot of problems. delhi police team took the help of intelligence and technical surveillance to bust the gang. After noticing the activities of the gang, police raided and arrested four accused.

Cable theft gang exposed

The arrested accused include Rashid Malik, Shahrukh Malik, Ramjan and Junaid alias Bhura. 55 meters of stolen cable, a Tata Ace loader vehicle and two mobile phones were recovered from the accused. The gang members used to climb the metro pillars at night with the help of rope and hook and cut the cables.

The cut cables were loaded in a vehicle and taken to the warehouse. When they got a chance, the gang members used to sell the metro cables to smugglers. police said that other members of the metro cable theft gang are absconding. The police had received information about metro cable theft from the signaling department of DMRC. delhi police has so far solved 22 theft cases and has succeeded in arresting 53 criminals.
