Sudha Subbiah

Former Shia Waqf Board President Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan issued his will on Tuesday. In which he has expressed his wish to perform his last rites according to Hindu customs. Along with this, he has also told who will light his pyre. In this will, he has also declared the names of his successors. Wasim Rizvi had kept his name Jitendra Narayan Tyagi in Hindu religion, but recently he changed his caste and changed his name to Jitendra Narayan Singh Sengar. After which he became Thakur from Brahmin and now he has also written his will.

Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan wrote a will

Jitendra Narayan wrote in his will that - 'I was born in islam religion and my name was Syed Wasim Rizvi. I have accepted Sanatan dharma in the year 2021, rejecting Islamic principles under the fundamentalist mentality of Islam. Currently, I have been adopted by the Sengar Rajput family as their son, due to which my name is now Thakur Jitendra Narayan Singh Sengar. All the people in my Islamic family follow their religion according to Islamic tradition. But, the good thing is that they do not have a fundamentalist mentality. Due to this, no member of my family has any objection to me being a Sanatani and I have no objection to all the people of my family following Islam. But, I have a fear that when I am murdered or die due to some other reason, then it is possible that my family members may try to bury my body in a cemetery by performing my last rites according to Muslim customs, calling it the right of the family.

Funeral should be done as per Hindu rituals

He further wrote that since now I have become a Sanatani, according to me my last rites should be done as per Hindu rituals. For this reason I have written a letter of my will which is also called a will, the original copy of which I have attached with this letter and I have also made it an affidavit. In the letter of my will (will), I have clearly written that my pyre should be made and my last rites should be performed by lighting fire in it according to Hindu customs and I have also authorized the name of the person who will light my pyre.
