Reportedly uddhav thackeray has suffered a major setback before the maharashtra elections. Bhiwandi Sampark Pramukh and former mla Rupesh Mhatre joined Shinde faction's shiv sena along with thousands of supporters last night. Along with Rupesh, some officials of Shiv Sena-UBT have also joined the Shinde faction. Rupesh Mhatre was angry at not being made a candidate from Bhiwandi. At the same time, Shiv Sena-UBT had expelled him due to anti-party rhetoric.

Meanwhile Rupesh Mhatre joined shiv sena in the presence of cm Eknath Shinde. Giving information on 'X', cm Shinde wrote, "Bhiwandi east mla Rupesh Mhatre along with many of his workers publicly joined shiv sena yesterday. We welcomed him to the party and wished him all the best for his social and political future. shiv sena has given ticket to Santosh Shetty from Bhiwandi east seat whereas this seat has been given to Samajwadi party in india alliance. SP's Raees Sheikh is the candidate from here. Rupesh Mhatre won the 2010 by-election and 2014 assembly elections from Bhiwandi east seat on the ticket of undivided Shiv Sena. Raees Sheikh won in 2019 and the seat went to SP's account. Santosh Shetty, whom shiv sena has made a candidate, was earlier in BJP. He was defeated by Rupesh Mhatre in 2014.

Moreover let us tell you that many rebels of Shiv Sena-UBT had also filed nominations. However, uddhav thackeray was successful in persuading some of them and they withdrew their nominations. Whereas when five rebel leaders did not listen, they were shown the way out. Apart from Rupesh Mhatre, the leaders who were expelled by the uddhav faction include vishwas Nandekar, Chandrakant Ghugul, Sanjay Awari and prasad Thackeray.
