By increasing the grandeur of many temples and ghats of Kashi, the development of the city has been given a new dimension. Devotees had to data-face a lot of difficulties for darshan in Banaras, the city of streets. This was solved by prime minister Narendra Modi through the construction of Kashi Vishwanath Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Eight new raw ghats have been selected from Assi Ghat and Rajghat, which will be fully developed. There are a total of 84 ancient ghats in Varanasi. With the construction of Namo Ghat, this number has increased to 85. Now with the construction of eight new ghats, the total number of ghats in varanasi will increase to 93.

At the same time, tourism facilities are being developed in Sarnath. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham has changed the economy of Varanasi. Not only has the means of employment increased but there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of tourists. Due to the Dham, the total revenue of varanasi has increased by 65 percent. According to the data, in 2022, 7.11 crore domestic and 83,741 foreign tourists arrived in varanasi, which is a record.

Compared to 2014, the number of tourists has increased by about 20 times. Within a year of the inauguration of the Dham, devotees have donated more than 100 crore rupees. Today there are more than 1000 registered hotels in Banaras. Apart from this, there are Dharamshalas and guest houses. In the last one year, the hotel rooms did not remain vacant even in the off season. Now the number of tourists in Kashi is 8 times more than the average annual number of Goa.
