Former Brahmos Aerospace engineer Nishant Agarwal was convicted of compromising the security and confidentiality of the country. In this, the former engineer has also been sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of three thousand rupees. Additional Sessions court Judge MV Deshpande has sentenced the former engineer convicted under the Official Secrets Act. He was arrested in a joint military operation by maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh ATS.

Accused of giving intelligence information to ISI

ATS had presented strong evidence against former BrahMos Aerospace engineer Nishant Agarwal. Agarwal worked as an engineer in the technical research department of the company's missile center in Nagpur. He had sent many information related to security and confidentiality to Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. In 2018, ATS of two states arrested him in a joint operation.


Court sentenced 14 years of imprisonment

In this case, Nishant Agarwal has been convicted under the National Security, Misuse of Position and Official Secrets Act. The court has sentenced him to 14 years of imprisonment. Nishant Agarwal has been convicted under Section 66 (F) of the IT Act and various sections of the Official Secrets Act (O.S.A.). Last year, Agarwal was granted bail by the nagpur bench of the bombay High Court.
