A flood warning has been issued by the district administration to the people of coastal areas. people living along the river banks have also been advised to move to safer places.

Kanyakumari district received heavy rains at dawn due to atmospheric circulation over South kerala and adjoining areas. The district recorded maximum rainfall of 103.02 mm in Mailadi.

Due to the release of 2178 cubic feet of water per second from the Pachiparai Dam, the rivers are flooded. A flood warning has been issued by the district administration to the people of coastal areas. people living along the river banks have also been advised to move to safer places.

A strong low pressure area over the Bay of bengal has strengthened into a low pressure zone which has become a storm and this storm has been named Ramel. Atmospheric upper circulation has also occurred over South kerala and adjoining areas.

Due to this, there was heavy rain in Kanyakumari district. Myladi recorded the maximum rainfall of 103.02 mm. 4258 cubic feet of water per second is coming into Pachiparai and Perunchani dams and 2178 cubic feet of water is being released from the dams per second. This has caused flooding in the rivers.

Heavy rains lashed the Western Ghats throughout the night. 85 mm of rain was recorded in Mambazathar area, 84 mm of rain in Anaiketang and 82 mm of rain in Balamore. The district administration has issued a flood warning and advised the people of coastal areas to move to safer places.
