Do not make this mistake while drinking tea and coffee, ICMR issued advisory

The indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has recently asked indians to avoid tea or coffee before and after meals.

The indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has recently released a set of 17 dietary suggestions for Indians. This suggestion emphadata-sizes on healthy life along with balance and variety of diet. In such a situation, the medical panel of the research wing of the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) has issued an advisory. In this advisory it has been told that tea and coffee should be consumed in limited quantities.

These are the disadvantages of drinking tea

Most people in india like to drink tea. Many people start having problems like headache if they do not get tea. More than half of the population in india consumes tea and coffee. In such a situation, ICMR has warned people not to consume them just before or after eating. ICMR researchers wrote, "Tea and coffee contain caffeine, which stimulates the central nervous system and causes physical dependence." Although he has not asked people to completely avoid tea or coffee, he has advised indians to be careful about the amount of caffeine present in these beverages.

How much caffeine do you take?

One cup (150 ml) of brewed coffee contains 80–120 mg of caffeine. Instant coffee contains 50-65 mg of caffeine and tea contains 30-65 mg of caffeine. He wrote, "It is advisable to exercise moderation in tea and coffee consumption, so that caffeine intake does not exceed the tolerable limit (300 mg/day)."

ICMR researchers have written this while stating the daily limit of caffeine for a person. Along with this, he asked people to avoid drinking coffee and tea at least one hour before and after meals. The reason for this is that these beverages contain a compound called tannin. When people consume it, tannins can interfere with the absorption of iron in the body. This means that tannins reduce whatever iron your body gets from food.
