No Assembly, No MLA Salary for KCR

SIBY JEYYA
Yesterday was the first day when Telangana's opposition leader, kcr, entered the legislature. After losing the 2023 assembly elections, this was his first visit to the assembly chamber. While others, like KTR, argue that kcr is unnecessary in the assembly since other BRS MLAs are more than capable of taking on Congress, cm revanth reddy is furious with kcr for ignoring the legislature.

Venkata ramana Reddy, the kamareddy mla, is the one who is furious with kcr this time and has made a strong argument against the BRS chief. kcr is overlooking the fact that the mla position is not a purely aesthetic benefit. He has been entrusted with this civic duty by the general public. As an mla earning Rs 2.75 lakh a month, he is unable to skip assembly sessions and stay at home. He will have to forfeit his mla pay if he chooses not to attend the assembly and defend the citizens of his constituency. As the bjp mla noted.

The fierce bjp leader continued by saying that since KCR's constituency supported him, he is entitled to benefits like allowances and special security procedures. He cannot be taking advantage of all the other financial and formal benefits that come with holding the office of mla, including missing assembly and his oaths as an MLA. Notably, reddy has some credibility because he had beat kcr and revanth reddy in Kamareddy. He may become more vocal shortly in his demand that kcr cease receiving his mla pay in the event that he fails to appear at assembly.
