Kota's dominance in prevention of food adulteration continues...

In Kota district of Rajasthan, the health department team is continuously checking food items. On receiving complaints from people, samples are being tested and if the samples are found to be wrong then action is also being taken. Along with this, if counterfeit goods are being manufactured at many places, they are being seized and action is being taken against the person concerned. In such a situation, now people in Kota have also started understanding that if food items are adulterated, the authorities will not let them go. For this reason, Kota ranks first in prevention of adulteration in Rajasthan.

In the 'War on Pure Food-Adulteration' campaign run in the state to prevent adulteration in food items, Kota district has also occupied the first position in the ranking for the month of april released from the state level. Kota has remained at the first rank for the last six months. CMHO Dr. Jagdish Soni said that in the flagship district ranking for the month of april, Kota got 561 marks, which is the highest in the state.

Ranking is done on these parameters

CMHO said that many activities have been included in determining this ranking. These include prescribed number of sampling of food items, issuance of new food registrations and licenses, license renewal, annual returns, timely disposal of complaints, FOSTECH training, Eat Right Initiative, timely presentation of challan in the court, decided cases in the court. The number includes repeated sampling done by food safety officials.

Apart from this, this ranking is decided on the basis of parameters like number of samples taken by the FSO team, samples taken by the mobile food laboratory van, media coverage, publicity through social media etc. Apart from these, the working style of the department's food safety officers sandeep Aggarwal, Chandraveer Singh Jadaun and Nitesh gautam was also commendable. The zero tolerance policy of the officials contributed in bringing Kota to the first position in the ranking of the entire state.
