Opposition among allies regarding candidates on some seats…

Amid the possibility of maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde-led shiv sena changing its candidate from Hingoli lok sabha seat, some party leaders claim that they are facing opposition from leaders of alliance partners over nomination on some seats. On march 28, shiv sena declared sitting Hingoli mp hemant Patil as its candidate for this seat. A shiv sena leader claimed that there was opposition to his candidature within the 'Mahayuti' (grand alliance), which also includes the bharatiya janata party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led nationalist congress party (NCP).

Voting will be held in the second phase of lok sabha elections in Hingoli on 26 April. Since thursday is the last day for filing nominations for the second phase, shiv sena functionary Baburao Kadam Kohalikar can be made the candidate in place of Patil.

Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Kadam said, "Chief minister Shinde called me to mumbai four days ago and asked me to start preparations for the lok sabha elections. This was the first time I got a hint that hemant Patil was being removed. I was preparing for the Hadgaon assembly seat (for the state elections to be held later this year) because hemant Patil's name had already been announced. hemant Patil, who reached Hingoli on thursday, told reporters that he felt his candidature should not have been announced earlier. He said, 'I spoke to chief minister Eknath Shinde and other party leaders and decided to accept the party's decision. I will work diligently for the party's candidate and strive for his victory.
