Glorious Days of Tollywood are BACK - Thanks to Kutami

SIBY JEYYA
The previous ycp administration in andhra pradesh, which placed limitations on the cost of movie tickets and the number of shows, undoubtedly sent shivers down Tollywood's spine. This was always going to have a bad impact on the film business. But the tide is beginning to turn, however slowly, with the election of the Kutami government. The ap government's special blessing for Kalki, which is scheduled to arrive on the 27th of this month, serves as evidence of the same.

In ap, the government approved raising the price of tickets by Rs 125 for plexes and Rs 75 for single screens. This is a highly calculated and much-needed boost for a movie that costs considerably more than Rs 500 crore. With government assistance for ticket rates and more concerts, artists like pushpa 2, Devara, and Game Changer may all expect a safe run in ap if this is a sign of things to come.

Prior to 2019 pricing increases and more performances, ap was a safe refuge for Tollywood, but since the start of ycp, things have changed. But with Kutami back in charge, the film industry seems to be returning to its heyday. With all of these large releases slated for 2024 second halves and midyear polls, it's almost as if the creators were aware of a change in the political landscape.
