Hyderabad's Fate: AP-Telangana Governance Divide.!
In two months, the official relationship between andhra pradesh (AP) and telangana is set to conclude, marking a significant shift in governance dynamics. Previously, hyderabad served as the common capital for both states, but now, ap Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to relocate to AP.
However, effective june 2, the arrangement will come to an end, and hyderabad will exclusively serve as the capital of Telangana. Notably, this transition is slated to occur just two days before the release of the general election results, with the deadline strategically timed to precede the formation of a new government.
As per the andhra pradesh Partition Act of 2014, the ap government is obligated to vacate and relinquish control of assets, including the Lake view Guest house and other buildings in hyderabad, to the telangana government after the stipulated ten-year period. Despite requests from ap authorities to extend the tenure or receive the buildings free of charge for an additional year, the telangana government has remained firm in its stance.
Currently, there's speculation that the ap government may need to pay rent for continued use of certain structures, such as the Hermitage building, CID building, and Lake view Guest House. However, due to election code restrictions, clarity on this matter may only emerge after june 4.
