More than 56 lakh voters will vote in Himachal...

The election commission has announced the dates of lok sabha elections across the country. In the hill state of himachal pradesh, voting will be held in the seventh phase on june 1. Whereas counting of votes will take place in the entire country including Himachal on june 4. 56 lakh 38 thousand 422 voters of himachal pradesh will vote in the 2024 lok sabha elections. These include 28 lakh 79 thousand 200 male voters and 27 lakh 59 thousand 187 female voters. Apart from this, the number of third gender voters in himachal pradesh is 35.

So many voters will cast their vote for the first time

In himachal pradesh, 1 lakh 38 thousand 918 voters will exercise their franchise for the first time. These voters are in the age group of 18 years to 19 years. This is about two and a half percent of the total voters. In Himachal, the number of voters in the age group of 20 years to 29 years is 10 lakh 40 thousand 756. This is about 19 percent of the total voters. The number of these voters is expected to increase in the coming time, because till april 1, 8 thousand 654 advance applications have been received from the voters who have completed 18 years of age.

7 thousand 990 polling stations ready

7 thousand 990 polling stations have been prepared for the elections on four lok sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh. In the year 2019 lok sabha elections, the number of polling stations was 7 thousand 723, whereas in the year 2014 this number was 7 thousand 385. The number of critical polling stations in the 2024 lok sabha elections is 425. There are 231 polling stations in the state, where more than 1 thousand 200 voters will cast their vote. More than 50 thousand employees have been appointed to conduct fair and peaceful elections in the state. On an average, 699 voters will cast their votes at every polling booth in the state.
