On the occasion of Mahashivratri, there is a huge crowd of devotees to have darshan and worship of the world's largest Shivalinga. There is a steady stream of devotees in Bhojpur of Raisen district of madhya pradesh since the morning of today (8 March). Here on the day of Shivratri, the whole of Bhojpur is echoing with the sounds of Om Namah Shivay. Today, on the special occasion of Mahashivratri, the temple has been decorated with colorful flowers. In view of the influx of devotees in the temple, elaborate arrangements have been made by the administration. Surveillance is being maintained through CCTV cameras and drones, while more than 200 police teams have been deployed here.

Organization of three-day Bhojpur festival

Let us tell you that there is the world's largest Shivalinga in Raisen district. It is just 25 kilometers away from the capital Bhopal. Like every year, this year too a fair is organized here on the special occasion of Shivratri. A three-day Bhojpur festival is being organized by the culture Department. Today, on the special occasion of Shivratri, a large crowd of devotees is gathering here. Devotees from all over the state are coming here for darshan.

Rajabhoj had constructed it

It is said that Bhojpur temple was built by king Bhoj of Parmar dynasty. This temple is built amidst nature, this temple has been constructed next to the place where Betna river flows. The temple is situated on a hill amidst the Vindhya mountain ranges on the banks of Betna River. The height of the Shivalinga located in the temple is 18 feet. The special thing is that it has four pillars of 40 feet height. The incomplete roof of the sanctum sanctorum rests on these four pillars. Apart from this, there are no shorthand inscriptions on the topography, pillar tops, urns and rock surdata-faces.
