Currently just before the lok sabha elections, congress has suffered another setback in Gujarat. gujarat congress mla Arvind Ladani resigned from the assembly and the party on wednesday (6 March). Arvind has become the fourth congress mla to resign in the last three months. Arvind Ladani became mla for the first time from Manavadar in Junagadh district and now he seems ready to join BJP. He has given his resignation at a time when rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' is reaching gujarat on march 7.

Meanwhile congress mla Arvind Ladani submitted his resignation at the official residence of gujarat assembly Speaker shankar Chaudhary in Gandhinagar. After this he said that for the development of his assembly constituency it is necessary to stay with the ruling party. The Speaker's office has also confirmed that his resignation has been accepted. Recently in gujarat, veteran congress leader arjun Modhwadia had resigned.

Just 15 months after the assembly elections in gujarat, the strength of congress has reduced to 13 in the 182-member House. After submitting his resignation, Arvind Ladani has said that he will soon join BJP. He said, "I have decided to resign as mla because the people of my constituency were of the opinion that staying with the ruling party will lead to development of the area. I also believe that if you are part of the government, it makes a difference." He claimed that he will join bjp very soon. He said that he is also ready to contest the by-elections if the party gives him the ticket.  Moreover Arvind Ladani further said that I have also resigned from the primary membership of the congress Party. In the 2022 assembly elections, he defeated bjp candidate jawahar Chavda from congress by a slight margin of 3,400 votes. Ladani was one of the 17 congress MLAs who won the elections in 2022 despite the bjp wave. Ladani is the fourth congress mla who has said goodbye to the party in a span of just three months. Just two days ago, senior congress mla and former gujarat congress President arjun Modhwadia had resigned from all posts and joined bjp on Tuesday.
