Pankaj Udhas is no more, PM remembered the old days..?

Prime minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas. On monday (February 26, 2024), he expressed his condolences through an X (formerly Twitter) post and said that the singer's ghazals directly touched the heart. According to PM's ex-post, "We express our sorrow on the demise of Pankaj Udhas. His singing conveyed a lot of emotions to the people and his ghazals spoke directly from the heart. He was a beacon of indian music whose melodious singing has influenced generations. Raised high."

The Ghazal singer, who was honored with padma shri in 2006, died at 11 am on monday in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The news of his demise was confirmed in the evening. It was told that 72 year old Pankaj Udhas was in the city's Breach Candy Hospital for some time. He was undergoing treatment there and he breathed his last there.

It was also revealed that the ghazal singer was suffering from cancer. This disease was detected in him only a few months ago. He was not even meeting anyone for the last few months. Bhajan singer Anup Jalota confirmed that Pankaj Udhas had cancer. He came to know about it 4 months ago. He was suffering from pancreas cancer.
