Hemant Soren had sought permission to participate in budget session

Former jharkhand cm hemant Soren has received a shock from the court. He had sought permission from the court to participate in the budget session of Jharkhand. He had filed a petition in the court, which was rejected by the PMLA court of ranchi on thursday (22 February). On Wednesday, the court reserved the decision after hearing Soren's application and hearing the arguments of both the sides. Soren represents Barhet constituency of Sahibganj district in the jharkhand Assembly. He had filed an application in the court on tuesday seeking permission to participate in the budget session of the Assembly.

Arguing on behalf of hemant Soren, Advocate General rajeev Ranjan said that the proceedings of the budget session are very important and it is necessary for him to participate in the proceedings to discharge his duties. Budget is a money bill and the proceedings are directly affected by the presence or absence of the MLA. He also cited some earlier decisions.

Before this, the court had given permission to Soren to participate in the assembly proceedings during the confidence vote of Champai Soren government on 5th February. hemant Soren was arrested by ED on 31st january in the land scam. He is currently lodged in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail.

It is noteworthy that after the arrest of hemant Soren, JMM leader Champai Soren was elected the cm of the state. Two more ministers took oath along with him. In the subsequent cabinet expansion, eight more ministers were sworn in. There can be a total of 12 ministers in jharkhand, the post of one minister is still vacant. After the cabinet expansion, some congress MLAs became angry against the ministers of their own party but later they agreed.
