Perhaps the government did not make any major announcement in the interim budget before the 2024 elections. But before the 2019 elections, in the interim budget, the government had made 5 big announcements for the common people. Among these, the biggest gift for farmers was the prime minister Kisan Samman nidhi Yojana. Apart from this, Pradhan Mantri Shram yogi Maandhan Yojana was also started to provide pension to 10 crore workers and labourers. Under this scheme, by depositing an amount of Rs 55 or Rs 100 every month, a pension of Rs 3000 per month is given after the age of 60 years.

Meanwhile this time nothing was announced for taxpayers in the interim budget. But in its last interim budget, while giving relief to the middle class people, the government had increased the limit of standard deduction from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.

Perhaps last time, the government had increased the TDS limit on interest received from banks and post offices from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 40 thousand. Also, the limit of rent income was increased from Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 2.40 lakh. That means there is no tax till this rent income. Not only this, in the interim budget of 2019, a defense budget of Rs 3 lakh crore was presented for the first time. Also, for the advancement of poor families, it was announced to increase 25% additional seats in educational institutions.
