Telangana Govt to release arrears for in-service and retired Doctors

The telangana government on saturday resolved to refund arrears between 2016 and 2020, which is excellent news for active and retired physicians as well as faculty members at government teaching hospitals and dentistry schools who are paid according to the UGC rate. The government has issued directives directing the payment of arrears for in-service and retired staff working in government teaching hospitals under the director of Medical education (DME) with effect from january 1, 2016, to august 31, 2020.
Employees who have GPF will have the arrears credited to their account with a three-year lock-in period. The decree said that the remaining 90% would be paid in 36 installments for employees hired on or after 2004 and covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Of the arrears, 10% would be deposited to their accounts together with the government share. Doctors from various groups met with T Harish Rao, the health minister, and complimented K Chandrashekhar Rao, the chief minister, for the wise choice.
The director of Medical education (DME) was given permission by the government to execute general professor transfers within a month of september 23 in a separate decree. Stay tuned.
