Wrestlers Protest - Indian Cricket Team lends Support
In this regard, the 1983 world cup badge cricketers including Kapil Dev, sunil gavaskar and others issued a joint statement saying, “We are heartbroken to see the inhumane treatment of our champion wrestlers. We were concerned to learn about their struggle to lift their hard-won medals into the Ganges. Those medals associated with years of effort, sacrifice, determination and hard work do not belong to them alone but are the pride and joy of the country.
We request players not to take any hasty decision in this matter. And we hope that their grievances are heard and resolved soon. Let the law of the country prevail".
