Anjali, 20, and her companion nidhi were riding the scooter back to their homes in the early hours of january 1 when the two-wheeler collided head-on with a maruti Baleno vehicle. As a result of the collision, nidhi was thrown from the passenger seat, and anjali was dragged for several kilometres before suffering a torturous demise.
Nidhi, an eyewitness to the incident, recalled the sequence of events that led up to the collision. She claimed they were leaving a party and anjali, who had been drinking, was operating the scooter when she nearly hit a truck before it collided with the automobile. "She had been drinking a lot. Even the driver of the scooty caused us to argue. She was completely out of her mind. She was about to slam into a truck before to that accident, but I somehow managed to press the brakes just in time when I was seated behind her, and we were rescued "Nidhi said. She added that there were no songs playing in the car.
"She screamed more, but the people in the car kept dragging her and driving off. She was supposed to drop me off first before heading home. anjali disappeared beneath the car after the crash, and I was knocked to the ground. anjali was trapped below the car, screaming for assistance, but the car continued to move.
"The people in the car ignored her cries of "Bachao Bachao" (rescue me, save me) and continued driving. She would still be alive if they had stopped the car and removed Anjali. Perhaps they thought something was caught below the car, so they reversing it twice more before driving off.
