The Hyatt Hotel in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, has been freed by the police from the possession of terrorists. In the 30-hour operation, the police have killed all the terrorists. In Mogadishu, the hotel was targeted on saturday by a terrorist organization named 'Al-Shabaab' affiliated with al-Qaeda. 20 people died in this terrorist attack, while more than 40 were injured.


According to an AFP report, the operation with the terrorists is over about 30 hours after the al-Shabaab jihadists stormed the hotel. All the gunmen are killed. During the encounter with the security forces, 20 people were killed in the firing that lasted for several hours, while 40 others were injured in this attack.

The terrorists had carried out two car blasts before firing. After which the gunmen entered the hotel building. About 30 hours after the attack began, Somali security forces liberated the hotel from terrorists. The Islamic extremist group al-Shabaab, which has links to al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack. 

The dead bodies were lying on the ground outside the reception.

Abdullahi Hussain, an eyewitness, said, “We were having tea near the hotel lobby when we first heard the explosion and then the gunshots. I immediately ran towards the hotel room on the ground floor and closed the door. The terrorists climbed straight up the stairs and started firing. According to Hussain, he saw several bodies lying on the ground outside the hotel reception while being taken out by the security forces.
