PM Cares for Children: Incredible benefits!!

Prime minister Narendra Modi on monday officially released funds for the children coming under the PM Cares Children Scheme. During his address, the PM gave full details of the help given by the government from the education of small children to their future. In this, from scholarship for school going students to issuing health cards under Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan, enumerate the benefits. Apart from this, information was also given about financial help till the age of 23 years.
Which children got help under the scheme?
PM Cares for Children Scheme (PMCCS) was first announced by prime minister Narendra Modi on 29 May 2021. Under this, help is to be provided to those children whose parents or legal guardians have died due to the coronavirus epidemic.The cutoff date fixed by the Modi government to decide the beneficiaries of this scheme was from 11 march 2020 to 28 february 2022. That is, the children who lost their parents or legitimate guardians during this period will be given all the help they get under the PM Cares for Children scheme.
According to the Prime Minister's office, the goal of this scheme is to ensure continuous comprehensive care and protection of children, take care of their health through health insurance, empower them through education and make them self-reliant by providing financial assistance till the age of 23 years. . A portal named pmcaresforchildren.in was also launched by the central government for the registration of children. The account of all the help of the children was also obtained from this portal.
What are the benefits under PM Cares for Children scheme?
1. Aid for Education
(i) For children up to 6 yearsBeneficiaries below the age of six years will be assisted by Anganwadi services for upbringing, pre-school education/ECCE, immunization, health referral and health check-up.(ii) for 6-10 year oldsAdmission will be given as Day Scholar in any nearby school i.e. government or government Aided school, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Private Schools. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in government schools, two free uniforms and books will be provided as per the guidelines of the scheme.
In private schools, tuition fee will be waived under section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act. In such circumstances where the child is unable to avail the above benefits, the fee as per RTE norms will be paid from PM Cares for Children scheme. Under this scheme, expenses on uniforms, textbooks and notebooks will also be paid for. A list of such entitlements is given in Appendix-1.
(iii) for 11-18 year oldsIf the child is living with extended family, DM may ensure his/her admission as Day Scholar in nearest government government Aided school, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV), Private Schools. The DM may make alternative arrangements for such children to stay at the CCI or any suitable place during the holidays. Children in this age group will continue to get facilities like 6-10 years old children.
(iv) 18-23 years, for higher educationIn India, students in the age group of 18-23 who want to pursue vocational courses and higher education, the government will help them to get this loan. Interest on educational loan will be paid from PM Cares for Children scheme. As an alternative, the schemes of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Minority Affairs and Department of Higher education will be given scholarship as per norms to the beneficiaries of PM Cares for Children scheme. Beneficiaries will get assistance through the National Scholarship Portal to avail such entitlements. The scholarships given to the beneficiaries will be updated on the PM Cares for Children portal.
2. Health
All children will be enrolled as beneficiary under the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a health insurance cover of Rs.5 lakh. It will be ensured that the child identified under PM Cares for Children scheme gets benefits under Ayushman Yojana.For the children covered under this scheme, the government will make an Ayushman health card, which will help them to get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. The premium amount will be paid by the PM-CARES Fund till such children attain the age of 18 years. Apart from this, they will get help from Anganwadi services for the upbringing of children up to six years. Here the facility of their vaccination and health checkup will also be provided free of cost.
3. Financial help
The lump sum amount will be directly transferred to the post office account of the beneficiaries upon account opening and verification of the beneficiaries. The amount shall be credited in advance to the account of each identified beneficiary in such a manner as to enable the On reaching the age of 3 years, his total corpus should be Rs.10 lakhs.Children will get monthly interest, after the age of 18, by investing a corpus of Rs 10 lakh. The beneficiary will continue to get interest till he attains the age of 23 years. According to PM Modi, this amount will become four thousand at the rate of 4 percent interest. When the child reaches 23 years of age, this amount of Rs 10 lakh will be handed over to him in full.
