Amit Jatic the Vice Chairperson of Westlife Development has stated that the Westlife Development which is operating the Mc Donalds chain of restaurants in West and South India has planned to double the number of restaurants to 500 by 2022 from 236. The company opens nearly 30 to 50 stores per year and it is going ahead and they have planned to maintain these numbers.

In the fourth quarter of the accounting year 2016, the company has seen a 8.4% increase in the same store sales quarter  on quarter which is compared to 3.1% and Jatia has attributed this to the catapult of the new Maharaja Mac and McCafe. So typically nearly 4 to 5 cities, what they have added and those cities could be across our entire territory.

It could be in South India and it could be in West India so that is how they have sort of taken that forward. Royalty is a plan which they have released and all the analysts have covered that in the report and it presently stands at 4% and that is how it is right now.

In this particular quarter they have catapulted the Maharaja Mac and the new form of Maharaja Mac which has both the vegetarian and a non-vegetarian option and that has resonated extremely well with their customers and the price increases have remained between a 3 to 6% a year.
