Telangana Hyderabad - Hot weather pushes up power demand in GHMC
Higher power consumption is anticipated as a result of the predicted higher temperatures, which might strain power plants and perhaps result in blackouts. The city has been having warm, dry weather during the day for the previous few days, which has increased the power demand. Officials from the Southern Power Distribution Company Of telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) report that average consumption in march was 72.02 MU, up 24.52 percent from the previous March's 57.84 MU. The average consumption for april was 79.93 MU, up 19.66 percent from 66.8 MU in the previous April.
It's interesting to note that during the final week of april, the city had an unheard-of rise in both power demand and consumption, with peak demand increasing by an average of 35.19 percent and consumption by 38.89 percent. In contrast to the previous year, when it was 2952 MW, the average peak demand in the ghmc limits was 3991 MW during the final week of April. Peak demand on april 30 was 4214 MW, up 62.20 percent over the greatest peak demand of 3112 MW at the same time last year.
