who had last delivered the superhit Dussehra 2017 flick Mahanubhavudu, has returned for Vinayakar Chavithi, this time joining hands with Akkineni prince Naga Chaitanya for the family entertainer Shailaja Reddy Alludu costarring Ramya Krishnan, and here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Shailaja Reddy Alludu review.


Chaitanya (Naga Chaitanya) is the son of a rich businessman (Murali Sharma), and he falls in love at first sight on seeing the gorgeous Anu (Anu Emmanuel) at his friend's
sangeet,
and starts to impress her. Slowly as Anu falls for Chaitanya, now he's lead to another zone, as he gets to meet Anu's mother Shailaja Reddy (Ramya Krishnan), and gets entangled
in  a
family issue, as Anu and Shailaja Reddy are not in talking terms with each other. Now, Chay has the daunting task of uniting the mother and the daughter whom even the father is not able to
unite,
and succeed in his love as well. Was Alludu Chay able to impress Shailaja Reddy, the mother in law, and win his love Anu is what the
fun filled

about.
 

Ramya Krishnan is the heart and soul of the movie, and in the titular role of the egoistic and

strong willed
Shailaja Reddy, Ramya Krishnan is a typical reminder of her majestic act as Rajamatha Sivagami in Baahubali series, and shines with her powerful and dominating screen presence and expressions, while Naga Chaitanya
play
a perfect foil to her, and exudes confidence with his underplay. Anu Emmanuel is the typical eye candy and she looks pretty. The rest of the cast including Murali Sharma, Naresh
and
Prudhvi tickle the funny bone and are adequate.

Gopi Sundar continues from the jubilant form of his last soundtrack Geetha Govindam and of his songs

humworthy
. Nizar Shafi's
cinematograhy
makes sure Shailaja Reddy Alludu is a colorful and visually appealing flick. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing could have been
taut
as the movie drags big time. After scoring hits with movies like Bhale Bhale Magadivoy and Mahanubhavudu where the heroes had medical conditions, this time around, comedy director Maruthi has opted for the simple plot of a conflict of an Alludu with his 
Athaa
,
 and has got his casting right, but execution wrong.

Though Ramya Krishnan and Anu Emmanuel are cast perfectly as the warring

daughter - mother
duo and Chay as the son in law caught between his love and her mother, the sequences are cliched and
predictable,
and barring few punches and oneliners mouthed by Vennela Kishore and Prudhvi, none of the scenes evoke genuine laughter.


While the first half of Shailaja Reddy Alludu moves at a leisurely pace, the second half drags high time, testing the patience of the viewer, as the movie travels pointlessly, and at a point is just a pathetic screenplay alternating between a song and a fight without substance, and the comedy falling flat is the biggest weakness of Shailaja Reddy Alludu. All said, despite the strong presence and performance of Ramya Krishnan, Shailaja Reddy Alludu fails to entertain.

Naga Chaitanya,Anu Emmanuel,Ramya Krishnan,Maruthi Dasari,S Radha Krishna,Naga Vamsi S,PDV Prasad,Gopi SundarA cliched and boring screenplay, with poor comedy, hampers the effort of Ramya Krishnan.
