'Pelli Choopulu' is one such movie which created more buzz before release. The trailer itself got huge positive criticism. The movie is touted to be new age romantic comedy and it is directed by Tarun Bhaskar and has Vijaya Devarakonda and Ritu Varma as titular roles. Let's see whether the movie has lived up to its expectations. So what is the plot about ? Prashanth (Vijay) is a happy going guy who never takes anything on a serious note. He aims to be a successful chef. However his carefree attitude, has forced his father to get him married and he fixes an alliance with a career oriented girl. She is Chitra (Ritu Varma). But she says to Prashanth that she is not interested in getting married and she too wants to start a food truck business. A disappointed Prashanth, leaves the scenario and decides to move on in life and finds yet another girl in a well to do family. But there too, he gets more disappointment as his father in law asks him to do his own business and then ask his daughter. So with no choice, Prashant goes to Chitra in order to start food track business in partnership. And as per law, she falls in love and how the couple gets united forms rest of the story.
The movie has some fresh cast and that is the biggest plus. Right from supporting characters to lead actors there is so much freshness. Credit should go to the director Tharun for writing something out of the box. Each character is sketched so well. Vijay Devarakonda is superb as Prashanth and he is definitely an actor to watch out in future. The chemistry between Ritu and the lead actor is just fabulous. Ritu Varma has done a wonderful role as Chitra. She portrays some emotions flawless and she looks gorgeous too. Priyadarshi, who plays hero’s sidekick is a treat to watch. His witty one liners are just bringing roof down.
The cinematography of the movie is the biggest strength. The romantic episodes are the biggest asset. Vivek Sagar has done magic in Background score, but songs are pretty ordinary. Screenplay is crisp and that is the biggest strength. Telugu nativity has been kept intact throughout. Cinematography is also neat.
The movie is a breath of fresh air and it is completely away from usual masala genre. The movie has lots of heart warming moments and this might be one of the under-rated movies in Tollywood. Younger generation audience will love this movie and others can definitely enjoy it big time.
