Delhi election 2025: 19 percent candidates have criminal cases?
In the delhi assembly elections, 19 percent of the candidates have given information about criminal cases in their affidavits. According to the report of news agency PTI, this has come to light in the ADR report. In the last assembly elections, 20 percent of the candidates had given information about criminal cases. In such a situation, a decline of one percent has been recorded this year. According to the ADR report, there were 672 candidates in the last assembly elections, which has increased to 699 this time.

According to ADR, 12 percent of the candidates contesting the elections have serious criminal charges, including crimes punishable with five or more years of imprisonment. There has been a decrease in this compared to last time, which was 15 percent. Candidates have given information about crimes like murder, attempted murder and crimes against women in their affidavits.
Two accused of murder
This time, 13 percent of the candidates in the electoral fray have given information about cases related to crimes against women. While two are accused of murder under section 302 of the indian Penal Code (IPC). Five candidates are accused of attempt to murder under section 307 of the IPC.
About AAP, congress and bjp candidates
63 percent of aam aadmi party candidates have criminal cases registered against them. Out of these, 41 percent candidates have serious cases registered against them. 41 percent of congress candidates have given information about criminal cases, out of which 19 percent have serious cases registered against them. 29 percent of bjp candidates have given information about such cases in their affidavits. 13 percent of bjp candidates have serious cases registered against them.
