However, soon things did not work out as expected for samantha Ruth Prabhu. Not only did she lose Jawaan but she also got divorced from her husband Naga. Nayanthara was then cast as the lead actress for 'Jawaan'. In the film, she gave a brilliant performance in the role of Narmada Rai, thewife of Shah Rukh Khan's character Azad. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, 'Jawaan' also featured Vijay Sethupathi, deepika Padukone, Priyamani, and sanya malhotra in important roles. With earnings of over Rs 1,148.32 crore, jawaan was the highest-grossing indian film of 2023.
