No Questions For Heroines, Chandini Expresses Anguish

Even though modern indian cinema has produced strong female characters for many years, it is undeniable that men still control the field. Female actresses frequently express their annoyance at not being cast for hard parts but rather for glossy doll roles. In another sincere grievance, a heroine vented her frustration to the media about how they never asked her any questions. Gaami turned out to be a decent movie with an original and captivating idea. The crew organized a successful meeting where Vishwak Sen and the director fielded questions from the media, but Chandini Chowdary, the movie's actress, was left out.

It didn't take chandini chowdary long to respond to the popular habit of only inquiring about the heroine's feelings after achieving success and her interactions with the hero. Even before anybody inquired, she satirically responded to their inquiries. She stated unequivocally that she had been watching heroines for a long time and that there would be no questions for them regardless.
During the Avengers press conference, when performers like Robert Downey Jr. got to answer questions about the screenplay and other things, hollywood heroines like Scarlett Johanson also had to deal with sexist questions over her diet. It remains to be seen if the media, at least with regard to character-driven movies like Gaami, will pose some thoughtful questions to the female performers the next time around.
