Are Yadavs now avoiding Lalu-let’s know?
The examples of Pappu Yadav or ram Kripal Yadav in bihar show that a significant number of Yadav voters are moving away from Lalu Yadav's RJD. One of the main reasons for this is that Lalu Yadav is giving complete control of the party to his son Tejashwi Yadav and he is destroying all the old power centers of his party. The family members are not tolerate any other Yadav leadership in Bihar. During the 1990s and 2000s, RJD had many strong leaders at the district level or mandal level, who had a free hand in their areas. But now Lalu Yadav is limited to only his family. The biggest example of this is Purnia.
Lalu Yadav never allowed Pappu Yadav to emerge as a bihar Yadav leader on a large scale during his time and now he is trying to ensure that Pappu Yadav does not emerge as a challenge for Tejashwi Yadav. Therefore, Lalu Yadav forced the congress and gandhi family to give Purnia seat to RJD. Pappu Yadav has contested the elections as an independent candidate and it seems that most of the Yadav voters of Purnia have chosen Pappu Yadav and not Lalu Yadav. It is also possible that the RJD candidate may finish third in Yadav dominated Purnia. Another example is from Nawada.
local stalwart RJD leader raj Ballabh Yadav has been an important RJD leader for more than two decades. He himself contested the lok sabha elections in 2014 and his wife in 2019. He has been mla 3 times and is now in jail. But his wife is the current mla from the Nawada assembly seat and his nephew is MLC from Nawada and another member of his family is the president of the Zilla Parishad. But this time raj Ballabh Yadav's brother Binod Yadav is contesting from Nawada as an independent candidate and two local RJD MLAs have supported Binod Yadav. Obviously Lalu's grip on raj Ballabh Yadav has also loosened.
