Dada Saheb Phalke Awards: Demand from PM Modi to save the dignity of Phalke Award, AICWA made serious allegations

If asked in any competitive examination, who received the dadasaheb phalke Award for the year 2024? And, if the participant writes the name of shahrukh khan in the answer, then the fault will not be his but all those media houses who have mentioned the dadasaheb phalke Award in the headline of the news of the recently held dadasaheb phalke International Film festival (DPIFF) Awards 2024. Written and published in 2024. There is increasing anger among the people associated with the mumbai film industry regarding this blunder and now the All indian Cine workers Association (AICWA) has written a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi against this extortion under the guise of the biggest national film award, dadasaheb phalke Award. There has been a demand to ban it.

The organizers of the dadasaheb phalke International Film festival (DPIFF) Awards claim their awards are recognized by the Prime Minister's office and meet the organizers with a purported letter from the PMO. Tourism departments and banks of many states of the country also become sponsors of this event after seeing this letter. Held in a five-star hotel in mumbai, neither are the nominations announced, nor is any jury selecting them, nor are the organizers organizing any festival of films by the name of the awards.

Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, who is called the father of indian cinema, is known to cinema fans as Dadasaheb Phalke. He is credited with making the country's first film released in theaters, 'Raja Harishchandra' (1913). Every year, the government of india gives the National Film Award in the name of Phalke to a person who has made an indelible contribution to indian cinema. Last year, actress waheeda rehman received this award. However many events have been organized in the name of the dadasaheb phalke Awards in mumbai and the rest of the country. AICWA President suresh Shyamlal Gupta has now written a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi in this regard and has demanded a ban on these awards which are similar to a national award.

According to suresh Gupta, in this way, by giving awards similar to the country's biggest National Film Award, not only is the dignity of the National Award being tarnished, but indian cinema is being cheated in the name of the father of indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. On behalf of his organization All indian Cine workers Association, suresh has written a letter in this regard to prime minister Narendra Modi as well as Union Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur. In the letter, serious allegations have been made against the organizers of the dadasaheb phalke International Film festival (DPIFF) Awards and it has been said that a huge amount of money is being collected by embezzling these awards.

Many stars of indian cinema attended the dadasaheb phalke International Film festival (DPIFF) Awards 2024 recently held in Mumbai. Every year about a dozen such programs are organized in Mumbai. Dadasaheb Phalke's grandson Chandrashekhar Pusalkar himself opposes these awards in front of the media and then attends these awards. Pusalkar says I have seen that people are taking money and giving awards to people who are not worthy of it. Once I got a call from a famous Marathi actress that she had met the organizer of the dadasaheb phalke Award in America and was demanding Rs 10 lakh for the award. I was stunned to hear this and felt very sad.

All indian Cine workers Association has written in a letter sent to prime minister Narendra Modi that the remarkable contribution of late dadasaheb phalke to the film industry is unique and his name is synonymous with the identity of indian cinema. It is disappointing that award ceremonies are fraudulently organized in their name and these awards are trafficked.
