Foundation Stone Laid for Mamallan Reservoir; Water Management Is as Crucial as Financial Management, Says M.K. Stalin

Chief minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for the Mamallan Reservoir, underscoring the importance of water management and stating that it is as vital as financial management for the development of the state.

Speaking at the foundation stone–laying ceremony, the chief minister emphadata-sized that effective water management plays a key role in ensuring sustainable growth, agricultural stability, and long-term water security. Drawing a comparison, he said that just as disciplined financial management is essential for economic progress, scientific and planned water management is equally critical for the well-being of the people.

M.K. stalin noted that the Mamallan Reservoir project has been designed to enhance water storage capacity, support irrigation needs, improve drinking water supply, and aid groundwater recharge in the surrounding regions. The project is expected to benefit farmers, rural communities, and future generations by addressing water scarcity and managing monsoon flows efficiently.

The chief minister highlighted that climate change and unpredictable rainfall patterns have made water conservation and storage more important than ever. He said the state government has been implementing several water infrastructure projects with a long-term vision, focusing on sustainability, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Stalin also pointed out that modern engineering techniques and transparent financial planning have been adopted for the Mamallan Reservoir project to ensure timely completion and optimal use of public funds. He added that such projects not only strengthen water resources but also create employment opportunities and boost local economies.

Reaffirming the DMK government’s commitment, the chief minister said that his administration views water as a precious asset and is determined to protect and manage it responsibly. He concluded by stating that investments in water management are investments in the future of tamil Nadu, ensuring resilience, prosperity, and social welfare for years to come.
