Bobby Deol said, I started shooting the film long ago and shekhar kapur was its director. We shot for 27 days for the film. Then she got an offer from hollywood to make Bandit Queen. Shekhar said I will do Bandit queen and come back to do Barsaat, but my father told him that he did not want to delay it.
He said that his father told Shekhar, 'You do your film, I will find someone else.' I think rajkumar santoshi was waiting to direct my film. I was lucky for this.
He said, 'The changes after the new director came on board were disappointing, I was 26 years old when my film was released. I was 22 years old when I started shooting. After Shekhar's departure, I had to wait for about a year for the shooting to resume. Still, it took two years to make it. The script kept changing.
