How did Dadasaheb Phalke get the idea of making a film on Ramayana?

When the father of indian films, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke alias Dadasaheb Phalke's first and also Bollywood's first film 'Raja Harishchandra' was released, it was a unique experience for the audience.
